What is Reiki?

Reiki is translated as ‘universal life-force energy’.
It is an ancient, non-intrusive, gentle yet powerful hands-on healing technique that enhances the body’s own innate ability to heal itself on all levels. Reiki is a safe and harmless technique based on the theory that an unseen ‘life force energy’ called  ‘Chi ‘ flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s ‘life force energy’ is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. 

Reiki works balancing the chakra system. The word ‘chakra’ means wheel in Sanskrit. They are energetic centres and we have 7 main chakras located from the base of our spine to the top of our head keeping both, our physical and spiritual bodies connected. 

 
 Reiki is a holistic form of healing and works on the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual levels at the same time. The term ‘ healing’ refers to the balancing of energy in the body so that it may heal itself.

 

There are no dangers or contraindications for the use of Reiki. 

What to expect in a session?

 

An initial first consultation will be taken. The practitioner will place the hands on different parts of the body where each chakra is located to scan/heal and balance the energy.


Come with an open mind. Different people have different reactions. You may feel tingling sensations, heat, cold, or you may feel nothing at all. Whatever the experience, the Reiki energy always work. Reiki flows through the hands of the practitioner always for the highest good of the person who is being treated.
 

Drink plenty of water before and after the session to help to clear out your body from toxins and waste. This will also help to reduce the healing process.
